From Offer to Sold

After all the prepping, cleaning and showing, you have accepted an offer–now what?

You can get your ducks in a row for the next stage of your plan, the Buying. You will want to be looking at listings, have a realtor set up in your new or existing area, and have your broker ready for the change. For more information, stay tuned for our upcoming buyer's blog series in the coming weeks.

While waiting for subjects to come off, be prepared to answer more questions, the buyers may have as they work through their conditions. This will come through their realtor to yours, but having more questions at this stage is very common.

You can prepare to say goodbye to your house when that last subject is removed.  Besides all the packing and arranging movers, you will want to start a pile, envelope or drawer to put all the information you want to leave for the next owner.  Start gathering items like appliance manuals, extra keys, service records, mail keys, garage remotes etc.  Let your realtor know where this is kept, as you will likely only be turning over one key to them at the end.

It is a good practice and a release of the burden on you to hire a cleaner rather than sweat it out yourself, but the choice is yours. Either way, you want the home to be nice and clean for the new owners as you hope for your new home to be.

And if you haven’t done so already, get a picture with the SOLD sign; keep the realtor photos for memories and celebrate the next chapter of your lives.
